The Duo Expands Their Strategy To Raise Funds For Local Habitat For Humanity Affiliates To Build Homes In Partnership With Deserving Families - Wisin & Yandel VIP Tour Experiences Auctioned Off Starting Today
MIAMI, FL. August 24, 2009 – Latin music’s top-selling artists Wisin & Yandel will begin auctioning VIP Tour Experience packages today as part of their ongoing fundraising and advocacy initiative with Habitat for Humanity through its entertainment industry partnership called Hollywood for Habitat for Humanity, a program of the organization’s Greater Los Angeles chapter.
Winners in each of the auctions held at www.charitybuzz.com/wyy will be able to meet the artists, receive VIP tickets (in the first five rows) to one of their La Revolución US Tour concerts and receive a VIP merchandise gift bag. Proceeds will benefit the local Habitat for Humanity affiliate in each tour city. Auctions for “La Revolución” tour dates between September 17th and October 10th will begin at noon today and auctions for shows between October 16th and October 25th will begin on September 9th at noon.
The auctions are just part of several fundraising efforts the duo is undertaking around their long-awaited La Revolución US Tour which kicks off on September 17th at the American Airlines Arena in Miami. Throughout the tour, Wisin & Yandel will donate $1 for each concert ticket sold to help further Habitat for Humanity’s local homebuilding efforts. In addition, all funds raised from the sale of a special merchandise item will be donated to the Habitat for Humanity local affiliate in each tour city.
Wisin & Yandel, who recently had the opportunity to help build a home alongside a Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles partner family in Downey, CA, will also invite future Habitat homeowners to attend the shows in each city, and will join families to build homes throughout the tour.
Wisin & Yandel are the first Latin artists to execute a program of this kind in the US. They launched the partnership with Hollywood for Habitat for Humanity at a June press conference where they made an initial commitment of $25,000, clearly demonstrating their intention to donate funds to Habitat’s mission to provide safe and decent housing for all.
“Habitat for Humanity stands for family, hope, and community, which are things that we all need in order to succeed in life,” said Wisin. “Throughout the tour we will be raising funds and building houses with Habitat for Humanity families and we hope you will join us.”
“The revolution starts by using your own voice, and that’s what we are here to do.” added Yandel. “We welcome the opportunity to engage our fans with Habitat for Humanity, an organization that serves the Latin community in the US and around the world on a daily basis.”
Wisin & Yandel will also be creating a special video which will include footage of the duo and Habitat families building homes, as part of an advocacy program that will run throughout the tour. The video, as well as a series of short video messages about Habitat’s programs will air on site at La Revolución tour stops before Wisin & Yandel hit the stage, as well as be utilized on and off line through traditional media channels and social networks.

During the La Revolución US Tour, fans will be encouraged to get involved with Habitat for Humanity in various ways and local Habitat for Humanity affiliates will be onsite at each show. MIAMI, FL. 24 de agosto de 2009 – Wisin y Yandel, los artistas latinos de mayor venta a nivel mundial, empezarán hoy a subastar paquetes “VIP Tour Experience” con el fin de recaudar fondos para ayudar a construir hogares con familias merecedoras, como parte de su iniciativa con Hábitat para la Humanidad, a través de su asociación con industria del entretenimiento llamada Hollywood para Hábitat para la Humanidad, un programa de la afiliada local del área de Los Angeles de la organización.
Los ganadores de cada subasta, que se llevarán a cabo en www.charitybuzz.com/wyy podrán conocer a los artistas, recibir boletos VIP (en las cinco primeras filas) para uno de los conciertos de la gira “La Revolución US Tour” y recibir una bolsa VIP de regalos. Las ganancias obtenidas beneficiarán a la afiliada local de Hábitat para la Humanidad de cada ciudad de la gira. Wisin y Yandel son los primeros artistas latinos en ejecutar un programa de este tipo en Estados Unidos. Iniciaron su asociación con Hollywood para Hábitat para la Humanidad en junio durante una conferencia de prensa en la que hicieron un compromiso inicial de $25,000, claramente demostrando su intención de contribuir a la misión de Hábitat de proveer hogares seguros y adecuados para todos.

El video, así como una serie de video-mensajes cortos sobre los programas de Hábitat se emitirán en cada uno de los espectáculos de la gira de “La Revolución” antes de que Wisin & Yandel salgan al escenario, y también se utilizarán en canales de televisión y redes sociales.
