Hawaiian Gardens Homeowners Encouraged to Attend Orientation Saturday, May 8th
Los Angeles, CA – May 5, 2010: Homeowners in Hawaiian Gardens may be eligible for free home repairs through Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles’ A Brush with Kindness program. Applications are available at City of Hawaiian Gardens City Hall, online at www.habitatla.org or by calling 310-323-4663 ext. 141. Completed applications must be received by June 8, 2010. Interested local area homeowners are encouraged to attend an information meeting on Saturday, May 8, 2010 at 10 am to learn more about the program and eligibility requirements.

WHY: A Brush with Kindness provides free exterior home repairs (valued up to $10,000) that include, but are not limited to, exterior painting, window replacement, roof repairs, landscaping, and other minor repairs. Qualified applicants are homeowners and residents in the City of Hawaiian Gardens who demonstrate financial need, will stay in their home a minimum of 3 years after completion of repairs and agree to work alongside volunteers, in various capacities, when work is being done on the home.
