[Pasadena, CA – April 2, 2013] Asset Network for Education Worldwide, Inc. (ANEW) is pleased to recognize Antea Group USA, Newmark Grubb Knight Frank (NGKF) and Teknion Teknion as champions in the field of social responsibility and environmental practices. Each of these companies named members representing senior leadership to work with ANEW and have signed on as Alchemist Sponsors to join efforts toward bettering industry practices.
Antea Group USA, an internationally acclaimed environmental engineering firm, and Newmark Grubb Knight Frank, a global leader in commercial real estate, join Teknion, a leading commercial furniture manufacturer in the U.S. and Canada and existing Steward Sponsor, to elevate their commitment of support toward sustainable alternatives in the field of surplus liquidation. All three companies are dedicated to corporate social responsibility and environmental sustainability and, working with ANEW, practice ANEW Alchemy: transforming corporate surplus into community service.
“These three companies represent leadership in the fields of environmental engineering, corporate real estate and commercial furniture manufacturing. Their collaboration with ANEW will result in a positive impact on our work and will attract other companies to the Alchemist cause,” says Rose Tourje, founder and president of ANEW.
Ron Burkhardt and Serge Vishmid, managing directors at NGKF added: “NGKF is honored to be a proactive member of such a forward thinking organization. We look forward to providing all of our clients the opportunity to get involved in this movement.”
ANEW provides companies with environmental and socially sustainable solutions for surplus materials. Items that can be repurposed are matched to non-profits, public agencies and underserved communities while avoiding landfill. Since its inception eight years ago, ANEW has established a network of 250 service providers and itself as a one-stop, take-back solution. The organization coordinates the entire process from the removal and redirecting of surplus all the way through reporting project metrics. To date, ANEW has diverted over 9 million pounds of materials from landfill; instead using it to serve 600 organizations in 13 countries.
“Teknion enjoys a great partnership with ANEW in providing services to manage end-of-life for finished goods. These services add value for our customers and provide a positive environmental impact. Companies working with ANEW can serve the underserved and promote corporate social responsibility to our communities,” says Tracy Backus, director sustainable programs, Teknion US.
“Antea Group is pleased to announce our sponsorship of ANEW. Our goal is to be a leading partner in the development and application of sustainable and integral solutions relating to the environment; working with ANEW is a part of attaining that goal,” says Amber Keenoy, senior consultant, Antea Group.
