The “I Have a Dream” Foundation – Los Angeles Receives $50,000 Grant from NBC4’s 21st Century Solutions Campaign

Los Angeles, CA – February 4, 2013: The “I Have a Dream” Foundation – Los Angeles (IHADLA) has been awarded a grant for $50,000 from NBC4’s 21st Century Solutions Campaign.  After an extensive application and vetting process, IHADLA was awarded the grant, which will help maintain the organization’s comprehensive programming for its 3rd grade Dreamers in Watts.

Steve Carlston, President and General Manager of NBC4 presented the check to IHADLA Executive Director Katy Garretson and Development Manager Kristen Skjonsby in a ceremony at NBC4 studios in Burbank on Thursday, January 31st. Two third-grade Dreamers from 99th Street Elementary in Watts were also in attendance and, following the check presentation, they were treated to a tour of the news studio and received reporting tips from weatherman Fritz Coleman.

Eric and Kim Tannenbaum & Bela Bajaria to be Honored at “I Have a Dream” Foundation Los Angeles’ 15th Annual Dreamer Brunch

Patricia Heaton will Emcee the Event on Sunday, March 3, 2013

Los Angeles, CA – January 17, 2013: Television producers Eric and Kim Tannenbaum and entertainment executive Bela Bajaria will all be honored with Dream Keeper Awards at the 15th Annual “I Have a Dream” Foundation Los Angeles’ (IHADLA) Dreamer Brunch, on Sunday, March 3, 2013, in the Ahmanson Ballroom at the Skirball Cultural Center. Patricia Heaton, star of ABC’s “The Middle,” will serve as Master of Ceremonies for the Foundation’s premiere event.

The Dream Keeper Award honors the vision of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., whose words inspired the “I Have a Dream” movement. The Tannenbaums, Executive Producers of Two and a Half Men, and Bajaria, Executive Vice President of Creative Affairs, Universal Television, are being recognized for their commitment to fostering the academic development of children in Los Angeles.
