Los Angeles, CA – July 5, 2017: Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles (Habitat LA) will honor Hockey Hall of Famer and Los Angeles Kings President Luc Robitaille at its 2017 Los Angeles Builders Ball® to be held Thursday, September 28 at the historic Beverly Hilton Hotel. Mr. Robitaille will receive the organization’s Foundation Builder Award in recognition of his significant contribution and leadership in creating intentional change in the Los Angeles community with the Kings Care and Echoes of Hope foundations.

Each year, Habitat LA honors outstanding individuals and companies that are committed to revitalizing and transforming the landscape of Los Angeles.

Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles Receives Donation of Lighting, Home Decor, Bedding and Furniture from Local Ethan Allen Design Center

Los Angeles, CA – June 29, 2017:  Ethan Allen, as part of its ongoing partnership with Habitat for Humanity, has donated a range of home goods to Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles (Habitat LA) for resale in local area Habitat for Humanity ReStores.

Last year, Ethan Allen donated close to 4,000 products to Habitat ReStores across the U.S. and Canada. This year’s additional donations should bring estimated total donations to 48,000 with a total estimated retail value of more than $19 million. “Creating happy homes is what we do best,” said Peter Drazba, District Manager of Ethan Allen’s Torrance and Tustin Design Centers. “We’re thrilled to help families achieve their dreams of homeownership, and we’re proud to support Habitat LA’s work in our community.

Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles Celebrates the Completion of Four New, Affordable Homes in the City of Montebello

Home dedication ceremony to take place Wednesday, June 28, 2017

Los Angeles, CA – June 23, 2017: Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles (Habitat LA), along with the City of Montebello and Partnership Housing, are proud to celebrate the completion of four new, affordable homes with a dedication ceremony on Wednesday, June 28 from 11am – 12:30pm.This marks the first development in partnership with the City of Montebello to bring affordable homeownership opportunities to the area.

This neighborhood would not have been possible without the generous support of the City of Montebello, Partnership Housing, Bank of America, the Habitat LA Catholic Coalition and Grifols.

Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles Makes Los Angeles Business Journal’s Top 25 Residential Developers List as the only Nonprofit Developer in the List

Los Angeles, CA – May 31, 2017:  For the fourth consecutive year, Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles (Habitat LA) was named as one of the Los Angeles Business Journal’s List of Top 25 Residential Developers in Los Angeles. This year Habitat LA was ranked number 22, up one spot from last year’s ranking of number 23.  Additionally, Habitat LA is the only nonprofit builder in the Top 25.

“We are grateful to be recognized as a top residential developer in Los Angeles, an area where homeownership is simply unattainable for most,” said Erin Rank, President and CEO of Habitat LA.  “This achievement is especially challenging in the development of affordable housing, as our model is very different than most builders. Los Angeles, CA – April 17, 2017:  Fans of the long-running, ABC daytime drama, General Hospital will once again have the opportunity to spend a day building a Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles (Habitat LA) home alongside their favorite cast members.  The 7th Annual General Hospital Fan Build will take place on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at an undisclosed location in Los Angeles. All proceeds will help Habitat LA build more affordable homes in greater Los Angeles.  Fans may register online for one of 25 build spots available.

Able ARTS Work (Formerly Arts & Services for Disabled) to Host “On A Roll” Casino Night Fundraiser in Long Beach

Event takes place Friday, November 4th from 5 to 9pm, at Hotel Maya

Long Beach, CA – September 20, 2016: The first annual “On A Roll” Casino Night to benefit local nonprofit, Able ARTS Work, will be held Friday, November 4th at Hotel Maya in Long Beach, California. Able ARTS Work (formerly Arts & Services for Disabled) provides lifelong learning through creative arts education, for people of all abilities throughout Los Angeles. This event is open to the public and tickets may be purchased online or at the door.

Tickets are available for $100 per person, which includes appetizers, wine tasting, live entertainment, and starter “funny money” to enjoy traditional casino table games. All profits from ticket sales will benefit Able ARTS Work programs. Attendees will also have the opportunity to purchase student artwork on site, with 50% of those sales going directly to the artists.

During the gala, ASD will honor Special Olympics Southern California and President/CEO Bill Shumard with the Ami & Remo Belli Humanitarian Award, which recognizes local community leaders.
